Terms of use
Effective date: 9 October 2026
These terms cover the Shturman app for iOS and Android, developed by Alex Atamanskyi (an individual based in Ukraine). By using the app you agree to them.
1. A driving aid, not a guarantee
- When GPS is unavailable or spoofed, your position is estimated from the phone’s motion sensors. The estimate drifts with distance; the orange marker means the position is estimated.
- Always follow traffic rules, road signs and markings. Don’t handle the phone while driving.
- Alert data comes from a public feed and may be delayed. Always follow official air-raid alerts and instructions from the authorities.
- Shelter and blackout data are snapshots of open sources and may be outdated: check the signs on site, as places can be closed.
2. Subscription
- Your first 10 hours of navigation are free. After that, navigation requires the monthly “Shturman” subscription at $0.99 per month.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iPhone) or Google (Android) account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage and cancel the subscription in iPhone Settings (your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
- Purchases can be restored in the app (“Restore purchases”). Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own rules.
3. Use
You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don’t attempt to hack, decompile or resell it. Maps, search and routing are provided by third-party services, whose availability is outside our control. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
4. Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”. The developer makes reasonable efforts for it to work correctly but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of positions, routes, or alert, shelter and blackout data. To the extent permitted by the law of Ukraine, the developer is not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or the consequences of decisions made based on the app’s data, and total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the event. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights.
5. Changes
We may update these terms. The new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. Disputes are resolved by negotiation and, failing that, by the courts of Ukraine.
